Last week our girls tennis team had the highs and lows of CIF. Wednesday they experienced the highs by narrowly beating Arroyo high school. This game went down to the last match where Wilson prevailed on points 78-74. Friday they experienced the lows as we had to travel to Laguna Beach high school were will fell to a very tough team with a final score of 5-15. Thank you to our ladies for all their work and dedication.
Last week your very own Wilson Staff and Wilson alumni played in a basketball game to fundraise for Los Altos High school graduates Julian Lopez who recently had open heart surgery. It was great to see our community come together to support such a great cause. You would be very proud or your teachers who cruised to a win over Los Altos teachers, and our alumni also won a close game 49-47.
Last Week we also had a fall sports rally were we got to see some creative dancing skills and from our boys water polo team.
This past Saturday our girls basketball team started its season with a scrimmage against Walnut high school. Under new coach Antwine Adkins, former Whittier College assistant coach, we were able to beat a very good Walnut team.
Thursday night we will be holding our winter sports parent meeting in the gym at 6pm. This meeting is for the parents of all winter sports athletes so please make sure to tell your parents.
Softball tryouts will also be held this Thursday at 3:15 on the softball field. Make sure to bring proper workout gear, glove, and cleats
Friday our boys basketball team will be scrimmaging against Walnut. This will be held at Walnut high with game times of 3:15, 4:30, and 6pm.
Wilson high school is proud to announce that next week Wednesday our very own Janelle Meono and Emily Bracamonte will be signing their National Letter of Intent for softball to attend University of Arizona and the University of Central Michigan. Please join us in the gym for music and support of our ladies and Wilson athletics.
