Cheer · Week in Sports

Last week our boys baseball team went 2-0 beating La Puente 14-0 and Mountain View 12-9.  We started the game down 6-0 but Anthony Guzman’s aka Inglewood’s pitching and  Nicholas Barrera’s monstrous 3 run shot against Mountain View helped  to rally the cats to the win.    Track did very well at the Chino invitational this Saturday. The boys and girls varsity 4 by 800m took second and shot put placed top five along with many other individual medals throughout the rain filled day.  Softball did well in their only game last week against Nogales.  Our Wildcats were victorious with a score of 13-3.  Mia Ayala was a beast at the plate hitting anything they threw at her.  Her grand slam was one of the many highlights of the game.  Our boys tennis team went 2-0 defeating Rosemead and El Rancho High School.  Our Cheer team finished up their season this past Saturday.  As with all sports you want to be competing at your highest level at the end of your season.  Cheer did not disappoint.   They took 1st place in “The Brand is Sharp” cheer competition held at Sonora High School.  This was their last competition of the year.   This season our ladies received the UCA Superior Award, UCA Tradition Award, placed 3rd at JAMZ which qualified them for Nationals in Vegas.  Thank you to Coach Denee and our captains Melanie Cruz and Natalie Galicia for leading our ladies to such a great season.  What a great week for our Wildcats!

This week our boys golf team has its first match of the year.  They will be competing against Colony at Royal Vista this Tuesday and at Colony on Thursday.  Good luck to 4 year starter and Captain Christopher Guerra as our team will  be the best it has been in the past 4 years.  Our track team will be competing against cross town rival Los Altos on Tuesday in our Dave Merrrill Stadium.  Softball has two games this week.  They will  be on the road against Bishop Amat this Wednesday and home on Friday against St. Lucy’s.   Our pool is back up and running so our swim team will be able to get some much missed practice time. They will be on the road this Thursday against Beverly Hills High School.  Boys Tennis will be on the road Friday competing against California High School.  Our baseball team starts league play this Thursday at Rowland High school.  Good luck to all of our sport this week.

Make the Day, Don’t Let the Day Make You!!!
