Wildcats News · Cross Country Finishes 12th In The CIF State Championships!

Welcome back Wildcats.

What a big Thanksgiving Break for our Cross Country team.  During our break our boys and girls teams represented our Wilson High School in the CIF Championships.  Both teams did well and our boys placed fourth in CIF and earned their way to CIF State Championships.  This past Saturday our boys raced with the top 25 teams in the State.  Our boys placed 12th in the State Championships.  What a great year for both teams and a special thanks to Coach Gomez and Coach Fessenden for their hard work and commitment to our kids.

The girls CIF Individual Championships were held this past Monday and we were represented by Arianna Audelo and Chloe Wu.  They both played well and Arianna earned her way to the final round of 32.  The Individual CIF Championships round of 32 will be held tomorrow, December 3rd at the Seal Beach Tennis Center.  Make sure you wish Arianna good luck as she looks to earn a CIF championship.

Our girls basketball team held their annual Thanksgiving Tournament.  They played well and went 2-2.   Their two wins game against South Gate High School and Diamond Bar High School.

Wrestling competed in the Costa Mesa tournament and Orange Lutheran tournament over the break.  Congratulations to Christian Salazar who placed 5th, Matthew Cramp who placed 4th and Daniel Carrillo who placed 1st in their respective divisions.

Boys Basketball went 1-2 over the break beating Canoga Park High School.  Boys Soccer tied against Chaffey High School 1-1.  Our girls soccer team played against Nogales High School and they tied them 1-1.

This week all of our teams will be in action.   Today our girls basketball team will be home at 5pm against Gladstone High School.  Our girls soccer team will also be home against La Serna High School at 5:15pm in our Dave Merrill Stadium.

Tuesday is our rivalry game for our boys soccer team.  They will be playing at 5:15pm at Los Altos High School.  Our girls basketball team will be on the road playing at 5pm at Charter Oak High School.  Our Boys basketball team will be in the El Rancho Tournament.  Their first game will be against St. Paul High School at 4:30pm.  Wrestling will be in their first home match against Whittier High School.  The start time of this match will be 5:30pm.

Wednesday the boys basketball team will be playing against Monrovia High School in the El Rancho Pride Tournament.  Game time will be 3pm.  Girls Water Polo will be on the road at Whittier High School with a start time of 3:15pm.

Girls Soccer will continue their home stand on Thursday against Brea Olinda, and Friday against Long Beach Poly.  Both games will start at 5pm in our Dave Merrill Stadium.

Saturday our Wrestling team will be in the West Covina Tournament.

Winter athletics are in full swing so please come out and support our winter athletes.
